BSCTA Accredited Martial Arts Tutors
BSCTA Accredited Martial Arts TutorsThe requirement for training and certification in the field of martial arts will continue to rise as the culture changes. In many cultures, proper military training is not mandatory. But in this new world where young people are being pressured into the military as their future career options, proper training is essential to survive in such a competitive work environment. The need for those who are prepared for the new demands in society and with its changing population will continue to grow. In a time when a person's health is considered, the demand for qualified instructors will continue to rise. As the education system has changed, the need for professional tutors will increase.BSCTA (the American Society of Certified Tutors) have been set up to cater to the needs of the growing industry of martial arts. They serve as an intermediary between a student or parent and a good instructor. They are accredited by the respective institutions of accreditat ion and are known to be a professional of high integrity. It is important to note that the standards and conditions of the American Society of Certified Tutors have increased over the years. The kind of training that is required by professional instructors will also be more demanding now. This will include the development of physica l strength and stamina. In conclusion, there are some situations where the demand for tutors can be met by training with BSCTA and other good instructors. However, there are many situations where the requirement for martial arts training is so high that a trained trainer is very necessary. This is the reason why, schools like the ones in Singapore are setting up home-based programs to cater to the growing need for people to be able to learn martial arts from a well-trained trainer.

Pearsons Language Test for English Language Leaners (PTE)
Pearson's Language Test for English Language Leaners (PTE) Hello Everyone! I hope that you are having a wonderful day! Many ESL students want to know if Pearson's English Language Test is comparable to the TOEFL? Well, many people agree that there are pros and cons to both tests; however, with the PTE test one can get his or her scores back in half the time as soon as five days! WOW! That is very quick; also, with the PTE test there is no room for human error on evaluating the Speaking section, because everything is done entirely online. However, on the TOEFL exam during the first part of the Speaking section you are actually stating your answer aloud to someone. As we all know, sometimes there can be bias without actually knowing or being aware of it. Please look at both tests before you make a decision or if you can afford it, then quite simply take both of the exams! That way you have a better shot at getting a score that you deserve. Also, remember that the older you are the harder it is to learn a second language. Please study hard for several hours a day and thoroughly prepare for either of these tests! There are study workbooks available online through Amazon or you may order from a Barnes and Noble bookstore if you prefer. Also, if you need tutoring on either of these tests do not hesitate to contact me!Yours in ESL,Tracey Pogue/ ESL Instructor

The more you dream, the farther you get.â Just like Michael Phelps, Haley had an interest in swimming, but the sport didnât necessarily come naturally to her. She wasnât always the fastest swimmerâ"often having slower times compared to her teammates. Instead of giving up, Haley compared the obstacles she was facing in swimming to her experience in Kumon. You see, Haley enrolled in Kumon when she was just six years old and now at 14, she can say sheâs studying way above her peers. In fact, she completed the entire Kumon Reading Program, which ends in analyzing the work of Shakespeare, in the 6th grade and sheâs currently studying advance algebraic expressions in the Kumon Math Program. It wasnât always easy for Haley, but she recalled the grit, determination, focus, and goal setting that she used to advance through Kumon. â" âBeyond academics, Kumon has really helped me with swimming,â said Haley. âWhen I first started swimming, most of the kids were much faster than I was. Seeing positive results from the hard work I put in daily at Kumon, motivated me to work hard every day at my swim practices. Like Kumon, I then saw a huge improvement in my swimming. My speed increased and I was invited to swim at more competitive meets.â Haleyâs hard work and discipline has paid off both in the classroom and in her swimming. With her stroke of choice being breast stroke, she is proud to say she made the varsity swim team in her freshman year of high school. Haley has walked away as a medal winner from the Central California Junior Olympics, and swims for the Santa Barbara Swim Club in their senior group. When sheâs not in the pool, Haley can be found singing in the school choir and playing the piano and guitar. She has even found a talent and enjoyment in composing her own music. In 2016, Haley achieved the Level 4 certificate of merit in voice and piano for The Music Teachersâ Association of California ®. In 2017, she went on to achieve Level 5 in voice, and is currently training for Level 6 in voice. This program provides young musicians a curriculum to strive for excellence in areas such as performance, technique, sight-reading/singing, ear training, and music theory. While Haley is still unsure on a future career path, she has a great passion and interest in skincare. She can see herself owning her own business that specializes in skincare. Haleyâs hard work and discipline didnât go unnoticed, as she was one of 55 students selected to attend the 2018 Kumon Student Conference in Calgary, Canada. 13 Essential Interpersonal Skills to Add Your Resume
13 Essential Interpersonal Skills to Add Your Resume Image via https://www.pexels.com 1. Verbal Communication In almost any job, communication will be an essential interpersonal skill. Whether youâll be communicating with clients, working with a team of your co-workers, or having frequent discussions with your boss, being able to communicate respectfully and effectively will be key. Try to somehow include your communication skills on your resume, and think about some examples of your effective communication that you can either put on your resume to back up your claim, or that you can bring up during an interview. For instance, if youâve recently completed a group project for a class that required a lot of back-and-forth with your group members, that would be a great way to show your potential employers that you will be able to communicate well once youâre working for their company. 2. Listening The ability to listen is an important facet of communication that you may want to highlight individually on your resume. In addition to communicating your ideas in a way that others will understand, you should also be able to listen to the thoughts and concerns of your boss and co-workers, and to respond to them properly. A recruiter will want to see that you understand the importance of listening in developing good work relationships, and your listening skills will show them that youll be able to understand feedback as youre training for the position. In addition, if youâre going to be working with clients, your listening skills will be crucial. As youâll need to be able to listen to your clientsâ needs and concerns in order to respond properly to them, this is one interpersonal skill that you should definitely try to highlight on your resume if possible. 3. Non-Verbal Communication Just as verbal communication can help you succeed in the workplace, non-verbal communication can help you make a good impression on your boss and co-workers, along with highlighting your good attitude and professionalism. Having good non-verbal communication skills means that you present yourself well to othersfor instance by making appropriate eye contact, having good posture, and controlling your facial expressions. Especially if the job that youâre applying for involves meeting with clients, non-verbal communication is going to be an important interpersonal skill for you to possess. As your non-verbal communication skills will be put to the test if youâre invited to interview, make sure that you truly feel that this skill helps you stand out before putting it on your resume. Infographic by Christine Ascher 4. The Ability to Mediate Conflict Conflict on some scale is common in the workplace, especially if youâll be working in a setting that focuses on teamwork, so knowing how to handle conflict and to resolve it with minimal disruption to your work is a great interpersonal skill to have. Being able to handle conflict will make you a great asset to any company, as in addition to helping others work out any issues between them if necessary, it also suggests that youll be able to handle problems that arise between you and your co-workers independently, rather than needing another person to step in. According to Alison Doyle, writer for The Balance Careers, being able to mediate conflict will be especially helpful if youre applying for a job in an area like human resources. If you include this interpersonal skill on your resume, make sure that you have some specific examples in mind to back it up, as this will show a recruiter that youâre not just telling them what they want to hear. If you were a resident advisor in a college dorm or if youâve mediated a conflict between group members for a class project, for instance, these are great examples to bring up. 5. Receptiveness to Constructive Criticism Especially when starting a new job with a new company, you may find yourself receiving a lot of constructive criticism. Rather than reacting negatively, by taking the criticism personally or ignoring it altogether, you should be able to respond to it by changing your actions appropriately. Being able to do so will make you far more valuable to a company, as youâll then be able to adjust to their way of working and to complete tasks to their satisfaction. Especially when applying for an entry-level job, which will probably require a lot of training, you may want to highlight on your resume the fact that you can respond to constructive criticism. This will show recruiters that youâre eager to learn and to do well in a position. 6. Negotiating In certain fields, such as sales, the ability to negotiate will be essential for success. Many students applying for internships or entry-level jobs will not be strong in negotiating, so if you already consider yourself a skilled negotiator, that is definitely an interpersonal skill that you should put down on your resume. Recruiters will appreciate that you have one less thing to learn should you be hired, and the possession of this skill will help set you apart from other applicants. As with any interpersonal skill, you should be able to back up your claim with some concrete examples. 7. Empathy Particularly when applying for a position that requires dealing with clients, it will be important for you to be empathetic towards others. The ability to understand what others are dealing with and to sympathize with their problems and concerns will make you a better employee, as youâll likely be more motivated to work hard to help others. This is a great interpersonal skill to put on your resume, as it will give potential employers an idea about your personal motivationsâ"for instance, it will show them that youâre not driven entirely by the hope of personal gainâ"and will help set you apart from other applicants who donât recognize the importance of empathy in certain positions. Judith Ohikuare, writer for Refinery29, points out that empathy will be especially important if youre applying for service careers, so keep that in mind depending on the jobs that youre interested in. In addition, being an empathetic person will help you form relationships with your co-workers, and will probably make you a good person to work withâ"a factor that will definitely be taken into consideration when youâre being considered for a position. 8. Lively Speaker Even when looking for internships or entry-level positions, being able to speak well in group settings is a great skill to have. Many people have trouble with public speaking, so if this is a skill that you feel confident in and that you know is relevant to the position youâre applying for, it should definitely go on your resume. Employers will love to see that youâre comfortable speaking in front of people, especially if youâre a dynamic and inspiring speaker. If you can, think of some of the favorite speeches that youâve given, or a time when you felt you inspired your peers through your speaking, as this will definitely impress a recruiter. Even if you wonât necessarily be speaking in large-group settings for the job, just having the ability to interest and inspire others will go a long way. 9. Problem-Solving Regardless of the job that youâre applying for, youâll need to possess problem-solving skills in order to succeed. In any position, youâll face a variety of dilemmas over time, and itâs important to show a recruiter that youâre well-equipped to deal with them when submitting your resume for a job. Being able to both come up with solutions to problems that arise and to implement them will make you a valuable asset to any company, so if you feel that you have good reason to back up your problem-solving skills, make sure you include them on your resume. 10. Teamwork Being able to work well in a team is an important interpersonal skill for many jobs, so if you have a lot of positive experience working in a group setting, putting that on your resume can give you a big advantage. Working in a team requires being responsible, reliable, and open to compromise, which will prove to be important characteristics to possess in order to do well in any position. In addition, being able to effectively communicate your ideas and listen to those of others will be important anytime that youâre working in a team. If you feel that your ability to work well in a team will help you stand out from other candidates, make sure you include this interpersonal skill on your resume. Image via https://pixabay.com 11. Reliability When you start working for a company, their success becomes tied to your ability to complete your work well and in a timely manner. Your boss and co-workers will need to feel like they can count on you to carry your weight, as theyâll be negatively affected if you start slacking off. Itâs a good idea to stress your reliability when applying for a job, as that will definitely help show a recruiter that you would make a good employee. A good way to prove your reliability is by referencing your prior work or internship experience. Regardless of the positions that you previously occupied, if you always completed tasks on time and were available when you were needed, that will show a potential employer that, should they hire you, theyâll be able to count on you. Include this interpersonal skill on your resume if it can be backed up by previous employers or co-workers should they serve as a reference. 12. Flexibility Flexibility is a great interpersonal skill to add to your resume. Whenever youâre working with others, youâll need to be flexible and compromise from time to time in order to work well with them. In addition, if youâre applying for a position that will require juggling a lot of different tasks, highlighting your flexibility will show a recruiter that youre capable of handling a large volume of work. Whenever you have a variety of tasks to get done, youâll need to be okay with altering your schedule or changing up the way that you complete them in order to get everything done on time. Depending on the job that youâre applying for, the ability to be flexible can definitely help you stand out from the other applicants. 13. Time Management Demonstrating your ability to manage your time independently is a great way to set yourself apart when applying for a job. Especially if youâre going to be working independently a good deal of the time, a potential employer will need to know that youâre responsible and capable of completing all of your work within a reasonable time frame. Knowing that you can properly schedule your time and that you donât procrastinate will definitely give a recruiter an incentive to hire you, so itâs worth putting on your resume. Make sure you back it up with some unique examples; for instance, if youâve taken extra classes and performed well in them, or if youâve been in a position that required you to meet a lot of tight deadlines, that would be great to mention. Applying for jobs in itself is a lot of work, and in a competitive job market, it can sometimes be difficult to even get an interview. Any way that you can set yourself apart from other job applicants will come in handy, and one great option is to reflect on the interpersonal skills that you feel make you unique as a candidate. Avoid sounding clichéd by noting down only those skills that you truly excel in and by providing strong examples to back yourself up. Once you do that, youâll be one step closer to landing your dream job.

However, a portrait can go beyond the head. If could be from head to foot or just the head and shoulders.Portraits can be notoriously difficult to get right. (Source: fxxu)Each artist can decide how they want to draw their portrait. A portrait is a person on their own. Otherwise, itâs a group portrait.A portrait doesnât even need to be head-on, however. While a front view is the most common type of port rait, the subjectâs head can be turned away from the artist or even a side view of the subject. In this case, you'll need to pay particular attention to the face shape, the bridge of the nose, the upper lip, the eyebrow, and facial features that you'd usually draw differently. In any case, a portrait needs to represent the subjectâs physical traits. Portraiture can also represent a personâs profession, etc. The goal is to better understand the subject through the piece. Of course, if you want to do a portrait, you need to learn how to draw a face, how to shade it with a graphite pencil, and how to make it expressive.Learn how to draw manga.Tools for Drawing a PortraitTo start drawing portraits, youâll have to first choose somebody to draw. It's not easy learning how to draw faces or capture somebody's likeness in your sketchbook. However, you donât need to draw somebody in front of you to do a nice portrait. You might want to avoid this if youâre just getting started. The easiest way for a beginner to start drawing portraits is from photos. You can draw a portrait of a stranger or use a photo of somebody you know. I recommend starting with black and white portraits to bet understand light and shadow. Itâs a useful exercise in understanding depth.Once youâve chosen your model, you need to choose the technique and medium. If you start with a black and white portrait, you can opt for graphite, charcoal, or pens, which can be good for portraiture.Youâll just need a sheet of paper. The sheet of paper needs to be quite thick so that it doesnât crease when you use a rubber. However, you can always grab some printer paper if youâre on a budget or just getting started. If youâd like to do a colour portrait, you have a few options. Coloured pencils, markers, acrylics, gouache, watercolours, oil paint, etc. If youâve opted for oil paint, you'll need a canvas. When it comes to watercolours, thereâs special paper you can get. Each artist needs t o choose before they draw their portrait.Find out more about how to draw anime and manga.Drawing Construction Lines for the FaceOnce youâre sitting comfortably with your art supplies, you can start by drawing a circle, then drawing intersecting curved vertical and horizontal lines to turn it into a sphere. You can check for good drawing classes here. Before you try and do anything, you should start with construction lines. (Source: Marty-arts)The horizontal line will half the sphere, like the equator on the earth. The second line will also cut the sphere in half. These lines will help you correctly position the facial features. The eyes sit just above the horizontal line and the nose and mouth will sit on the vertical line. You can alter the positions of the lines (while always ensuring they divide the sphere into two equal parts) to change the orientation of the head. Of course, a face isnât a perfect sphere. Once youâve placed the facial features, you can start by creating th e jawline. This will work for most portraits and you can also use this technique to draw your own characters.Find out how to make your own comic. The hairline is also important because youâre going to have to go back over it once you add the hair.Ensure you practise as often as you can. (Source: pixel2013)Once youâve got the outline drawn, place the ears just above the horizontal line. Pay particular attention to the space between the eyes. Carefully look at your model to get the proportions right. There is no one-size-fits-all mathematical rule for faces. Each face is different, after all.Once youâve got the eyes, you can add the eyebrows, eyelids, and pupils. Keep in mind that a face will never have perfect symmetry. Ensure that each detail is as realistic as possible. Details can change everything (beauty spots, scarring, etc.).Move onto the nose and then the mouth. The latter needs to be about halfway between the horizontal line and the bottom of the jawline.Start by placing the ears at the same level as the eyes. You might need to practise how to draw eyes, eyelashes, the eyelid, and the human head in general before yo u start. Human faces are notoriously difficult to get right and you might want to use construction lines rather than doing it freehand.Learn how to create a caricature.Learning to Draw HairFor the next step, youâll need to add hair to your sketch. Hair is an important part of a portrait but itâs difficult to draw. You need to work out where the hair starts on the forehead so that you can set the limits. You can then draw the outline of all their hair and donât hesitate to add some movement. Trace a few lines and defining features of the hair but donât overdo the hair else you'll be closer to drawing a caricature than being a portrait artist.Practising how to draw hair is particularly difficult and private art lessons could help you draw it.The Background of a PortraitTo finish off your portrait, youâll need to add a background. It could be in the countryside or a town. It could also be basic shapes, animals, or whatever. The background can add important information about you r subject. It could represent their loves, hobbies, etc.Two More Techniques for Drawing a PortraitWhile weâve gone through the basics of drawing a portrait, these arenât the only techniques you need to use.You can also draw on grid lines. This technique involves drawing lines on the source photo and then replicating these lines on your blank sheet of paper. The grid lines will help you faithfully position parts of the drawing. This is also useful if youâre changing the scale. You can always draw portraits of multiple people. (Source: OpenClipart-Vectors)Some artists prefer to draw their portraits with no grid lines or construction lines. These artists can do this from feeling alone and replicate a face just as it appears in the photo. You can start with just an eye, then align the second, sketch the nose, mouth, and the outline of the face. There are no rules. Just trust yourself and practise regularly.Learning to Draw FacesThere are several ways to learn the fundamentals of dra wing and you can always teach yourself. Get a lot of source material and practise regularly to get better. You can also attend an art school, art workshops, or hire a private art teacher. No matter how you choose to do it, drawing has to be enjoyable first and foremost. If you want to learn how to draw people, how to sketch simple shapes, how to draw an eye or do a quick pencil portrait, you can always get in touch with one of the many talented private tutors on Superprof! There are three main types of tutorials available: face-to-face tutorials, online tutorials, and group tutorials, and each comes with its pros and cons in terms of learning and cost-effectiveness.Face-to-face tutorials are taught with one student and one tutor and they tend to be the most cost-effective type since every minute in the lesson is spent focusing on you as the student.Online tutorials are similar to the face-to-face tutorials but take place either on a call or via webcam. Online tutorials are usually ch eaper than face-to-face tutorials. Finally, group tutorials are classes with one teacher or tutor and multiple students and these tend to be the cheapest per student per hour.
